WHAT ARE THE LAWS IN TEXAS?
Texas is a "no fault" state. Couples looking to divorce do not have to prove any allegations against the other. Simple stating that the marriage is insupportable is grounds to grand a divorce.
The state of Texas requires a 60 day waiting period once a Petition for Divorce is filed. Assuming all criteria has been met, this is the fastest timeframe for a divorce to be finalized. Depending on the complexity of the case, divorce proceedings can typically take six months to a year to finalize.
WHAT DOES THE DIVORCE PROCESS LOOK LIKE?
Each case is unique and will have its own process. Typically, the divorce process follows the following order:
